Two of the Hunter’s leading blogs have achieved honourable mentions in the worlds ‘Top 150 Marketing Blogs’ ranking charts.
Media Hunter stormed in at 269 and The Marketer broke the ice with a respectable 353.
The ‘Top 150 Marketing Blogs’ ranks the worlds top English-language marketing blogs. Originally launched in January 2007 as a USA-based ranking, the Power 150 expanded worldwide to include all English-language blogs after TechBrew provided the list’s automation in March 2007. Recently it has been taken over by Ad Age one of the world’s leading marketing and media companys.
In true blogging fashion, Hunter’s Best is going to list all the ‘Top 150 Marketing Blogs’ honorable mentions:
AUSTRALIA defender Jade North has been named captain of the Newcastle Jets for the new A-League season, replacing retired leader Paul Okon.

The resort – St Helena Village – will be built adjacent to historic St Helena House and will comprise a 28 room guest house, 117 tourist accommodation units, a village square, commercial / retail areas, a recreation club, restaurant and function rooms, a village hall, chapel, day spa, pools and sporting facilities.
Half of all Hunter businesses with an internet connection have a dedicated website, with 92 per cent of businesses using their site to advertise their goods and services, recent research from the Hunter Valley Research Foundation (HVRF) reveals.
Results from the March 2007 HVRF business monitor survey show that the proportion of businesses with internet access which also have a home page or dedicated site has grown from 40 per cent in 2000 to 52 per cent in March this year. Around one-quarter of businesses without a site intend to get one in the next 12 months.

The continuous growth of Newcastle Airport shows no signs of abating with May 2007 recording the highest number of passenger movements in airport history.
Newcastle Airport accommodated a record 85,084 passengers during the month of May. This represents an increase of 17.8% or an extra 12,878 passengers compared with the same period last year.
THE former Newcastle MP Bryce Gaudry has admitted he should have followed up allegations against Milton Orkopoulos rather than take the word of the sacked Aboriginal affairs minister, a court has been told.
Orkopoulos, who turned 50 on Sunday, was yesterday committed to stand trial on 52 child-sex and drug charges allegedly relating to three young boys and spanning 10 years from 1996.

Former NSW Government minister Milton Orkopoulos has been committed to stand trial on child sex and drug charges.
Orkopoulos, 49, appeared in the Newcastle Local Court before magistrate Richard Wakely today.
He was committed for trial, with an arraignment hearing to be held on August 2.
